Why We Built This Site
Michigan gives the public real access to court and county records, but those records do not live in one place. The court that signs a warrant controls the charge and the bond, and the sheriff's office carries out the order and can say whether it is still open. A missed court date produces a bench warrant held by the judge in the court where the case sat, and a felony that is bound over moves the file to the 26th Circuit Court. There is no single public Michigan database that ties those pieces together. MiCOURT carries case information for participating courts, the state ticket tool carries ticket and case records, and the Michigan State Police criminal-history service leaves warrant information out entirely. A person can check one place, see nothing, and draw the wrong conclusion. This site pulls the offices, portals, request steps and access limits into one reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant checks: how to run a Montmorency warrant check by name or case number through the district court and the state case tools
- Outstanding warrants: how the county treats open warrants, and why no public county roster was located
- Missed court dates: how a failure to appear becomes a bench warrant and which court holds it
- Charge-based warrants: how the district court magistrate issues an arrest warrant and how the sheriff serves it
- Traffic and city matters: unpaid tickets, defaults and the court that handles them, on the traffic warrants and city court warrant pages
- The county most wanted program: described and linked through the county most wanted page rather than republished here
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to any Michigan court, sheriff's office or state agency. The limits are real:
- We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists for anyone, or run an official warrant check
- We cannot clear, recall, quash or remove a warrant from any system
- We cannot accept payment toward a bond or post bond for anyone
- We cannot set a court date, arrange a surrender or schedule a walk-through
- We cannot say how a specific warrant, charge or bond applies to you, because that is legal advice
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee or record status here is current right now
Only the issuing court, or the sheriff's office that serves the order, can confirm whether a warrant is open, recalled or cleared. This site can point you to that office, but the answer has to come from it.
Search Partners
Some pages carry search boxes run by outside companies. Those companies set their own prices and their own terms, and when a search leads to a paid signup this site may earn a referral fee. That revenue keeps the site free to read. This site does not control what a partner charges or what its results contain, and a partner result is not an official warrant check.
